Teacher Training

The National Curriculum Council (NCC) Secretariat is steering curriculum reforms with the aim of promoting quality education for all children across Pakistan. The reforms have been undertaken across four verticals: Standards, Textbooks, Teaching and Assessment. After the successful completion of Standards for Early Childhood Education (ECE) and Grades 1-12 based on the National Curriculum of Pakistan (2022-23), the NCC is especially focused on the implementation of Standards through an effective Teacher Professional Development Program. For this, NCC is collaborating with education institutions and provinces across Pakistan to train Master Trainers and Teachers on the new curriculum.

All the teacher training material along with the associated resources can be accessed below:

  1. Training of Trainers (TOT) in General Pedagogy and Assessment.
  2. Comprehensive Teacher Training Manuals (TTMs) Grades 6 - 8
  3. Condensed Teacher Training Manuals (TTMs) Grades 6 - 8

This endeavor begins with the meticulous development of Training of Trainers (ToT) Manuals on general pedagogy and assessment followed by comprehensive Subject-Specific Teacher Training Manuals (TTMs) for eight subjects of Grades VI-VIII: English, Urdu, Mathematics, General Science, Computer Science, History, Geography, and Islamiyat, aligned with the National Curriculum of Pakistan 2022-23. As part of our commitment to excellence, the TTMs underwent rigorous development, incorporating the latest educational methodologies and pedagogical best practices.

A pilot phase was initiated to bring this vision to life in three diverse districts of Sindh—Karachi, Hyderabad, and Sukkur. Over four transformative months, the training followed a Cascade model, where Guide teachers underwent a dual-phase training approach. They first received comprehensive training on General Pedagogy, equipping them with the essential tools for effective teaching. Subsequently, the focus shifted to subject-specific training, delving into the nuances of English, Math, Science, and Computer Science.
